Crowns
A crown, sometimes called a cap, is a tooth-like hood that is placed over the existing tooth. The colour is carefully matched to the rest of the teeth so that the new crown looks completely natural.
The crown strengthens, protects and improves the look of a damaged tooth. Porcelain crowns are a permanent solution to severely damaged, decayed or non-aesthetically looking teeth.
We use CEREC® technology
First Appointment
At the first 90 minute appointment we remove all the decay from your tooth so as it will happily support its new crown. It’s crucial that all the decay is removed first so that no infection grows under the crown. We then scan the reshaped tooth so that the new crown can be fitted. The crown is made in our own off-site lab using state of the art, precise milling equipment.
Second appointment
At the second 45 minute appointment we fit the new crown to the tooth using a strong bonding agent that permanently holds it in place. We can guarantee the exact fit of the crown.
CEREC™ Crowns
We use a state-of-the-art digital 3D camera to create a virtual model of your tooth on the computer screen. The crown is then designed using state-of-the-art CAD software which allows us to customise the shape and detail it to fit exactly.
The crown is made in our own off-site lab. It is an all-ceramic, colour-matched crown which looks and feels like a part of your natural tooth.
